Yesterday morning I woke up with very crusty eye which surprised me but I thought it was because I was very tired. I looked miserable when I arrived to work and I thought it was because of allergies or something. Turns out it was bacterial pink eyes in both eyes. The second half of the day when I realized what it was, became rough. By the end of the shift I had an antibiotic eye drop.
Today felt better and no more discharge like there was yesterday.
Mom says to call off sick for the next two days because going to work could make my eyes that are sensitive right now worse, and bad for customers and coworkers (hospital work as well).
google search says "Bacterial pink eye is contagious from the time symptoms appear until 24 hours after starting antibiotics, or until there is no longer discharge from the eye"
I took the antibiotics over 24 hours ago already and there is no longer discharge so I shouldn't be contagious.
With my job I can only call sick 3 times in a 90 day span. There is a chance my first of 3 recent call offs is past 90 days ago. Two consecutive sicks days called off counts as one occurrence.
Should I go to work or call off two days?
