How do you become a better gift giver?

This time of the year I often find myself scrambling to figure out what to get people for the holidays.

I honestly don’t like not knowing what someone wants, getting people random things always feels disingenuous and wasteful.

I also never know what is the appropriate amount or size of gift I should give.

I got my GF headphones this year but then felt guilty that I didn’t get thoughtful little things that were more sentimental.

All in all I feel a lot of shame around the gift giving arena and would love to know how to become better at it. Thank you in advance!
