How much did Scrooge give in donations to charity?

Everyone knows the story of Scrooge from A Christmas Carol. He turns from a hateful miser, to a friendly giving person. I have watched probably 20 versions of A Christmas Carol. Near the end Scrooge ends up giving money to the two gentlemen he dismissed earlier in the story.

He whispers in their ears that he is giving so much to help those in need. The amount is never said on screen. I honestly cannot remember if it’s told him the book or not. I have not read the book in 20 years. Does anyone know a definite answer about how much Scrooge gave?
