I think having $700 monthly after bills is low, am I out of touch?
Post Body

Hi guys, I am 20 years old, I make $4800 monthly ($4400 after taxes/deductions)... I plan to move out of my families house in April next year and get my own apartment. I made a monthly budget list to see how much I'll be spending on bills/savings/Fun and noticed after bills I'd only be having $700 monthly for savings/fun...

I pay for my own stuff bills wise the only thing I wasn't paying for was for rent. (I paid my familes utilities for the entire house, which is our agreement.)

Right now living with my family I have like a little over $2,000 a month left over after bills. But once I move into my own apartment I will be spending like 1400 on rent alone. Which will take a large chunk of my money away and I am not used to that.

I looked online and I saw that the average person has only 250 monthly after bills which I think is crazy because right now imagining only having $750 after bills/essentials is kinda scary I think.

So yeah am I out of touch with the real world or am I right to be kind of worried about not having another $1300 monthly to put into savings/Fun money?
