At what point should I contact the seller about a package?

Bought a trading card from a guy a couple weeks ago and he’s shipping it by mail. He told me he sent it out on Monday the 9th but I haven’t gotten it yet. Usually when I do this it takes around a week. I know it’s the holidays so mail can be slower but at what point do I say something like “hey man the card hasn’t arrived. Was there any notification on your part from the post office of something happening?” Or something like that. Like should I bring it to attention now before it gets too late?
