Why do Americans go straight to the hospital as soon as they go into labour?
Post Body

AFAIK here (not America) you’re told to wait until the contractions are so close together before you go in.

Also, why do their whole friendship groups attend the hospital? Same with funerals and family weddings etc.

It would be kinda odd where I’m from if my grandparent died and all my close friends came to the funeral when they didn’t even know the dead person, just me.

Or is this just what happens in American sit coms and films? If yes, why is it so common in American film & tv if it isn’t actually a thing?

PS what’s your favourite American sit com?
