Good evening,
I wanted to come on and ask this question because I am unsure.
I have been asked out by a person with Asperger’s Syndrome. His condition is not why I’m not interested. When he originally asked me, I did not know this - I just didn’t see myself dating him.
He is a very sweet person and extremely smart. However, he did mention he struggles with social cues. He messages me several times throughout the day before I respond and asked seemingly personal questions about my family, ones that I thought were too personal at this stage. It was after this he told me he had Asperger’s Syndrome and explains how it affects him.
TBH, I just feel really bad turning him down. But at the same time, it wouldn’t be fair to him for me to agree to the date if I wasn’t interested.
Is there a way I can say this nicely but also firmly?
TIA!
