I often hear the older generations say things like "no one wants to work these days!", even heard a boomer lady at the gym say "kids don't even want to work, they just want money!!" which gives me the impression that people back then were quite eager to work/go to work. I mean, if I could afford all my necessities and a car and a house on a cashier/bartender/whatever salary, i'd be pretty happy too but that's just not the case these days.
were people back then eager to work? did they seriously work for any reason other than money? have things really changed???
