Quick research indicates we're killing about 900.000 cows, 1.4 million goats, 1.7 million sheep, 3.8 million pigs, 12 million ducks, and 202 million (!) chickens per year for food (which, needless to say, is absurd) --
However, it's often stated that the number of fish killed is in the hundreds of millions every year, which seems strange to me seeing as seafood seems to be much less ubiquitous in people's diets compared to meat from land animals -- so, how come the numbers for fish slaughtered are still apparently so incredibly high?
