Im a graduating senior of high school in 2025 and my group of 4 girl friends (all 18 by the time of the trip) was planning to go to Europe (Croatia, greece, italy.)
Since the beginning I did tell my friends I think 3 countries for 2 weeks is a lot and pretty expensive and all my friends said on they really really want to go. We set an estimated amount ($5000) for the total trip and we were aware of the price of the trip. I myself am working to pay for the cost of the trip.
Today, one of my friends texted us (literally the week we were going to buy the tickets) and says she thinks its really expensive and she doesnt think its safe. I am kind of confused now because we were planning for around 3 months now and we've been talking about the trip (and the costs) for over a year now.
She says she wants to be a little more closer like Hawaii and Mexico and she wants to stay in resorts. I myself am not a resort person and I love traveling to other beaches, checking out touristy history places etc. I would lose my mind if I stayed in a resort. I absolutely despise the idea but obviously I haven't said that.
My point: I have saved money for this EUROPE trip. They have hyped it up so hard and now all I am is disappointed. do you think its rude if I just tell them I'll pass on the Caribbean trip they want to go to and maybe go on the Europe trip by myself or with others friends or my family? Mind you they are my childhood friends and my families all know each other. Im just pissed idk.
