On the one hand Australians are known to be chill, laid back and have a "she'll be right" attitude. But at the same time Australia has some of the most stringent regulations on occupational safety, building standards, bringing stuff into the country, etc. I am not saying which is good and which is bad, but just wondering how to reconcile these two apparently conflicting phenomena and explain their co-existence in Australian society?
One idea that came to mind is, maybe when you're laid back and not in a hurry to finish the job, you can take more time to navigate heavy regulations and don't mind being slowed down by them?
Appreciate your input as I really want to wrap my mind around this. Thanks!
