As a 23 year old who's not in college, how can I best improve my knowledge of the world in general?
Post Body

I wouldn't say I'm stupid, but I have many gaps in my knowledge and didn't pay attention in school, and now I want to learn new things, but have 0 idea where to start. I'm reading a book right now by H.G Wells called 'A Short History Of The World'. It's not that short, but the chapters are very short, and it's easily digestible and not overwhelming. I walk into a book shop, and there's so many different places to start, that I end up either getting nothing, or getting yet another fiction book I'll probably never get to. I have interest in philosophy, psychology, existentialism, spirituality, neuroscience, and more. All of these are complicated and heavy topics, and there's no set starting point. I flicked through 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra' after reading that it was the most accessible of Nietzsche's books. I genuinely did not understand any of what was written down. Even the Oxford 'Short Introduction' series of books are slightly overwhelming. The ones on Free Will and Humanism I really struggled to get through. Am I just stupid?
