Is there way to influence the tone and nature of a Fandom or is it entirely out of the creators hands?
Post Body

For example, Undertale, my hero academia and Fnaf are notorious for having some... Strange fanbases

Wheras for example lord of the rings fans are relatively chill.

My question is it solely due to the type of work created, the authors attitudes/handling of the work or what?

Not trying to be an ego maniac that thinks I could create a big Fandom one day, but I'm curious if people in that position actually have a degree of influence in those circumstances.

I'd for example would hate if I was George Lucas and had a disproportionate amount of fans that are willing to doxx people over small details in lore accuracy, for example. (LOTR fans are also staunch about lore accuracy, but not to the degree of toxicity of star wars fans. Why?)
