Consider three scenarios depicting "the constant speed of light irrespective of the emitter's direction" and let me know if these seem right or wrong:- 1. An imaginary object travelling at a slightly higher speed than light's, directly approaching towards Earth. We won't be able to see it before it reaches us. This is because light from it will reach us after the object itself. 2. A heavenly body with similar speed travelling not towards us but such that its path can be seen as a line from our planet. After some of the path is traversed though, it curves its way a bit towards us due to some gravity, invisible forces, etc. Initially when it travelled along its straight path, every point in the path is at almost equal distance from us. So although its speed is faster than light, we will be able to see it move with the correct speed. Later when it bends by a CERTAIN degree towards us, we will see it go away from us instead of coming towards us. This is because light rays from it when it's far will take time to reach us as opposed to light rays when it is near us. 3. A celestial body(not the Sun) that is 8 light-minutes away from us decides at 12am to get closer by 4 light-minutes. In doing this it doesn't have the light speed (of course) but it is very fast and let's suppose by 12:40am it does that. The light sent by it at the start of journey(12am) will reach us by 12:08am but when it reaches the destination point near us, the light with new information(that it's near now) will be here at just 12:44am. 44-8=36 minutes will be the apparent journey time which is less than actual 40 minutes. Will we be realising its actual speed ever or just see a faster speed?
