Does reading comprehension in general or just on reddit?

Part of reading comprehension is to read and then extract a meaning within reason. I am on this thread a lot and I keep seeing people take the most literal and outlandish interpretation of what is said and run with it.
Here are my theories:
1 the average Reddit user has a 3rd grade reading level
2 stupid people use reddit to feel smart
3 my writing style is as clear as a brick wall
