In music, what's the difference between a band and a solo artist when there's always someone who is playing instruments?
Post Body

There's bands in which multiple people collaborate to create songs by combining their different talents through vocals or playing instruments. They all get the spotlight and credit for songs together.

And there's also solo artists who get all the credit and spotlight for singing songs. But what about the people who performed the instrumental for said songs? Why isn't that considered collaborative work?
