Since English doesn't appear to have an umbrella term encompassing clubs, bats, rackets, sticks, etc. in sports, does this also mean that the category of sports/games where you use these "arm extensions" to hit a ball or a ball-like object does not exist in the language?
Post Body
For example in Finnish, games such as tennis, ice hockey, badminton and golf are part of "mailapelit", where "pelit" is "games" and "maila" is the umbrella term for arm extensions in sports.
Also, "mailapelit" is a subcategory of "pallopelit" (ball games). The "ball" doesn't necessarily have to be a literal ball, like in ice hockey or badminton. Or American football.
