Is there an actual reason for why Reddit is so negative?
Post Body

Seriously, outside of the select subreddits I subscribe to, Reddit is like the most negative places ever lol. Every post on relationship subs receives (highly upvoted) comments suggesting OP leaves their partner. There are nonstop posts on the front page about how doomed we are, politically, environmentally, socially etc. I just read an entire comment section on a post about movie theaters "becoming a thing of the past," and almost every comment was saying something like "that's because nowadays no one believes in etiquette." Someone mentioned that the vast majority of people were simply a "waste of air." I read another thread suggesting that after the pandemic, 99% of people became horrible at driving(?).

Like what causes the insane amount of negativity that seems almost exclusive to this site? Why do "Redditors" seem like the most miserable people on earth? And why is everything so black and white? Like there's zero middle ground on here about almost any subject. It's always literally good versus evil, no middle ground.

There's gotta be a reason for this kind of behavior, right?
