Why is pork so cheap in Canada?

Post Body

I live in Toronto where basically everything is stupid expensive. And yet I can get a 4-pack of big thick pork loin chops for less than $5 at a store where a single mediocre cut of sirloin is $8.

Why is this? I get that pigs have historically been cheap to raise because they'll eat whatever, but surely the cost to get pork to market is high enough that $4.62 should be a crazy undervaluation for 2-3 meals' worth of product?
