An example I can think of - which isn’t in the mould of the traditional good vs evil - is from Mrs Doubtfire.
As a child I always disliked Stu (Pierce Brosnan), as I saw him as the baddie coming in and stealing Daniel’s (Robin Williams) family.
Having rewatched the film as an adult I now have a difference perspective.
Stu doesn’t do anything wrong, he genuinely cares for Sally and her children and wants to enter a loving relationship.
He doesn’t steal Sally from Daniel and actually doesn’t do anything untoward throughout the duration of the film (he does call Daniel a loser at one stage but this is not to Sally and is during a private conversation with his friend).
In actual fact Daniel nearly kills Stu by spiking his food and Stu is still very amicable towards Stu - again displaying that he is actually a nice guy.
Are there any other examples that you can think of where you changed your opinion of whether somebody was actually the “baddie” (or goodie) after all?
