If the US wanted to build a giant wall to stop illegal immigration from South America, would it help to make a deal with Mexico to build it and enforce it on Mexico's southern border?

Mexico–United States border: 3,145 kilometers (1,954 mi)

Guatemala–Mexico border Belize–Mexico border: 871 km (541 mi) 250 km (160 mi) = 1121 km (701 mi)

Would Mexicans support this plan? I imagine that there are Mexicans who blame the US for all the people coming into their country because these people's final destination is the US. So, could this be seen as a way to make up for that?
