How would you plan for a long day trip?

I’ve had a rough month and I decided to take all of next week off. I have a ton of time to go somewhere.
I haven’t planned a hotel, I dont want to spend a ton of cash… I’m just thinking about saying fuck it and going as far as I can drive..
I feel like I’m overthinking this, but I just need to clear my head and go somewhere new.
