Why do people shame others for their harmless hobbies?
Post Body

You probably saw that viral Reddit post about a wife who snapped at her autistic husband for sharing his interest in LEGO sets and the like, to which he became reclusive and withdrawn and she became distraught and terrified at him considering divorce. In my opinion, what she said was awful and she deserves everything thatโ€™s coming to her. But why do you think people do this? What underlying reason or upbringing or whatever would compel you to snap at someone like this?

Edit: For those wondering about the original story, here it is.
