Are Muslims typically socially distanced from extended family?
Post Body

Hello, from my (agnostic) understanding Muslims are to limit interactions with non-Mahramโ€” people that they could theoretically marry. This would include cousins, brothers in laws, uncles, etc. of the opposite gender. As a Mexican-American my family is pretty large, so eliminating the aforementioned groups would mean limited interaction with a great part of my family.
