Why are people so impressed that my car only has 70k miles on it?
Post Body

I’m a 27 year old woman and my car, a 2012 Ford Fusion was my first car. My parents bought it for me used when I got my license in 2014 and it’s been my car ever since. It’s been through a lot, but it still serves me well. It just hit 72k miles about a month ago and I told one of my coworkers about it. I didn’t think the number was a big deal, but my coworker was shocked. She told me that for a 12 year old car, ONLY having 72k miles on it is amazing. She told me that her own car has gotten almost the same amount in a year or something.

I don’t get why it’s a big deal and a part of me feels like I should be embarrassed because it shows how much of an introvert I am and how little I go out. My coworker told me thats not true, but I still think about it sometimes.

Should I be feeling proud that I don’t drive this car nearly as much as most people?
