Almost all anime share a distinctive art style and look anime-esque, while Japanese video games all have differing art styles and don't look like anime at all (Mario, Kirby, The Legend of Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pac-Man, etc. are all Japanese video games but don't resemble anime in the slightest)
