Why are breakfast options in the US so abundant & different from nearly everywhere else in the world?

I live in the Netherlands right now. After coming from the US South the breakfasts here feel underwhelming.
Edit: seems like some people are interpreting āabundantā as meaning ābetterā in this context. I just mean as a comparison of amounts. Look at a Dutch supermarket cold cereal aisle vs. a US. Thereās a visible difference.
