Is it common that people who go blind become completely blind, or is that something almost exclusive to people who are born blind?
Post Body

If I understand it right, most people who go blind don't actually go 100% blind and see as much as you and I see from our elbows, while this is quite common among people who were born blind.

But how common is it for people who go blind to reach this stage of blindness, excluding those who go blind through extreme trauma to the eye that basically destroys them?
