ESPECIALLY for anyone on the younger end, I see a lot of preaching on this website when alcohol is mentioned or freaking out if anyone under a certain age touches a sip.
I’m 19 and have been drinking properly since I was 14. Not saying this to try and be cool either most of my alcohol before I was like 16 and had a job was supplied by my mum for me.
I’ve seen a lot of comments that would suggest this is outrageous or unacceptable. But it was perfectly normal where I grew up and I’m glad I had it. As a kid who was shy and anxious especially I’ve made friends who I still have today as close friends that I would not have initially made without alcohol at all. So many memories I have drink to thank for. Some not great memories either but it’s better to live than to be sheltered.
It’s okay if you’re not an idiot. Like most things. going out getting hammered and shitty drunk dancing and meeting some of the most absolute random people is probably one of my favourite hobbies rn. I don’t see the hate.
I remember one time seeing a thread were someone mention their 6th form formal (16-18 year olds school ran event) everyone was drinking opening and the replies where like arrest everyone involved lmfao.
