How do you respond to a “name what you know about _” question?

I’ve seen that done especially by men to women, regarding a topic that mostly men are interested in. Basically it shows that the former does not believe a woman can show interest in a topic strictly men like. For example someone says „ Oh I really like Metallica” - „Oh Yeah? How many songs do you know?” You could of course just answer that question, but who would forget the audacity that made them ask this in the first place?
