How does someone obtain a job with a liveable wage without a college degree
Post Body

I am a 27 (almost 28) year old male living in California. As the title suggests I don't have a college degree and next to no college experience. I'd say for now I have a decent-ish job working as a cook at a convalescent hospital. While it isn't the best pay, it's enough to just barely support myself and pay all the bills but in order to live comfortably I need at least 1 roommate.

With that out of the way my question is this. I want to move and want to be able to support myself when I do so. I work for a family owned facility so transferring to a different building isn't an option. I've looked into programs to get certified for electrical work but the program I was looking at cost thousands of dollars which just isn't feasible on my current salary.

What sort of jobs are out there that I might consider to support myself. I honestly don't really care what it is so long as it pays well enough for me to be self sustainable and isn't going to be potentially dangerous for me
