Is it over kill to put a hole in your SSD or Hard drive if you don't need it anymore?
Post Body

I noticed that in big companies (when I was working), they usually destroy laptops or hard drives if they're not using them anymore.

Is this kind of overkill for the general user? I was always given old SSD's from my brother. Also I see people selling secondhand storage (SSD or HDD or portable SSD's) online.

From a recycling POV, it's a good thing to reduce e-waste!
