Why don’t people drive on flat tires when it’s an emergency?

I guess it might be a movie thing when the characters get a flat or whatever. Last time I popped a tire I said fuck it and kept driving. Not on the highway though just around town until I got it home to fix it. But if I’m out in the boonies(where I do frequently go) I’m for damn sure getting the hell out of there at night.
