Kaspersky has had a phenomenal reputation of being the best anti virus out there. And the greatest thing is (or was), is that it supports Windows 7 still.
With Windows 7 not getting updates anymore, Kaspersky is (or was) the only thing protecting my Windows 7 machine.
Well, that was until I found that I could no longer update the virus database in over a month. It was go to 100% and then do nothing.
A Google search reveals that the US has banned Kaspersky and the US government prohibits any updates being applied to US computers, which explains why my Kaspersky will not update.
However, there seems to be limited or no information as why the ban.
It is crazy how the US refuses to shut down all these malware websites and software, yet they get to dictate whether I am allowed to use the anti virus of my choice or not?
Kaspersky is the only one I like.
So, why did the US ban it?
