Should we be shitting bricks? P0420 sensor

Right now I’m on an 8 hr road trip and the p0420 sensor randomly came on. We had a safety inspection on the car right before we left for the trip so in Theory the car should have been healthy. Could this be from a faulty sensor? What happens if we keep driving it? We kinda don’t have a choice cuz of the length of the trip.
