Is it true that tariffs have anything to do with reducing slave labor?
Post Body

So I keep seeing stuff about tariffs lately, and people arguing whether it's good or bad. Some people are saying that it will raise costs for everything in the US. And other people are saying, yeah but it's only raising costs because now people working to produce those things are getting paid more fair wages because with tariffs we will buy more stuff from places without slave labor.

So then does the whole argument boil down to "would you rather have slaves make stuff so you play less, or would you rather pay more if you know the workers are being paid more fairly?" Or is this an over simplified false dichotomy?
