Why do some people not allow others to take a shit in their homes?

Throughout my life, I have been to a few peoples houses that dont allow you to take a shit in their restrooms. Convo is usually you asking to use their restroom, to which they reply. “Number 1 or 2?” And if choosing the latter, they say no. Why is that? I’ve always been taken aback by that question because… why does it matter? I always welcome people to use my restroom if they are over and couldn’t fathom caring what they are doing in there as long as it isn’t destroying my restroom. Why make it a rule that you don’t allow guests to poop?
