What exactly happens if people have impacted wisdom teeth and never go for surgery? How common are other dental issues like cavities?
Post Body

I had 4 wisdom teeth removed because they were all impacted and affecting the other teeth. I was surprised because I only felt minor pain and discomfort in my ear. Surgery was required.

But I wonder what exactly would have happened if I never had surgery. Would cavities and other dental issues be common issues?

I remember my mother was giving me terrible advice and desperately begging me to not get surgery because she claimed it would give permanent mouth damage and pain to me because she had something like that when she was younger. Everything went well.
