im 17 and an artist. i sometimes like to draw cartoonish gore for fun. my friend on twitter is 15 and wants me to draw a picture of them getting shot. this was prompted by me making a tweet telling the story of how when i was younger and had a stomachache i would draw pictures of me hurting my stomach as it was cathartic and helped me relieve some of the frustration i had with the sensation. it seems like they are in a similar mindset where seeing a cartoonish depiction of themself like that might be cathartic. its not that ive never drawn such things and im not uncomfortable with the topic of bullet wounds itself, but im worrying that it could be considered creepy and weird. its not nsfw as in pornography and its not going to be used as such to be clear, but the way some people define certain horror movies as “gore porn” is making me question the idea. i would never draw porn of a minor, real or fictional (even though im a minor myself), for obvious reasons but the topic of light gore and if it is considered pornography feels kinda like muddy territory. its just a tossup in my brain. seeing such drawings of myself has genuinely helped me feel better and relieve stress and i want to give that help to someone else, but also i dont want to do anything unethical or immoral or expose a teenager to something bad (although they have told me they have been frequently exposed to such images, so i wouldnt be the first by any means)
