Tips on how to create a successful community on this site?
Post Body

\MODS, if this is not allowed please remove this post and I apologize for my confusion! I read the rules, just wasn't sure. Thanks!*

Hello! I have recently really enjoyed using this website and visiting all of the communities. I've dealt with haters and whatnot, but also really genuine people.

I am interested in creating my own subreddit community because I've been looking for something specific but haven't found it exactly.

I was wondering if anyone has any logical answers or tips to creating a successful community on here? I'm looking for a method or something that you believe would honestly work.

My main concern is that a lot of other communities don't allow self-promo, so I'm not sure how to get the word out there that my community exists, especially since it would be so few in people who have joined it so it'll be at the bottom of anyone's search. Additionally, the title of it would include a popular word that's used in different contexts, so it just wouldn't be the first thing people saw if they searched it.

Also, please feel free to tell me the pros/cons of creating your own community on here, I'd love to hear it as I'm new to this!

Thank you very much for your help!
