What is the difference between full/slow format vs filling the storage with random item until filled and then quick formatting?

I just full formatted my ssd 1tb for about 8 hours or so but I can just copy my 78gb LOTR copies multiple times and until it is full and then quick format it. Would the sensitive data previously found still be able to be harnessed?
