Is Lindy Chamberlain from the infamous "Dingo at my baby" not responsible at all for her daughter's death?
Post Body

Hi. So, not to be insensitive for the sake of it, I'm not a parent and have no practical experience on parenting but is it not kind of questionable that Lindy Chamberlain took a 9week old baby to camping, I mean that sounds dangerous and then she left the baby inside a tent alone to sleep. Even if you didn't care for dingoes, I cannot imagine parents today leaving a 9w old baby alone in a tent in some campsite. So, even tho the murder case against her is just plain wrong but is there not a case for negligence at least? Because now on the internet you'd see people vehemently supporting her and feeling sorry for her, while with a 9wo baby I'd assume parent would be more careful.

Im only trying to understand what happened so assume good faith please.

ETA: Also the father. If she's responsible for negligence, he's too.
