Did people used to catch on fire on a regular basis or something?
Post Body

I have been on this planet for almost 30 years and have never once needed to use Stop, Drop & Roll, nor have I witnessed anyone do it except for demonstration purposes. I vividly remember this being drilled into my head from probably kindergarten through 3rd grade. But why? I'm not saying don't teach it, but why was that taught so frequently? I legitimately thought people catching on fire was going to be a real and common problem until like middle school.
