I received this email regarding my first month's rent payment from when i signed the lease.
We need your help to resolve this matter. The Western Union money order you summitted as payment was returned by 'landlord's bank' as "unpaid" and as a result, the payment has been reversed on your account.
In order to resolve this, 'landlord's bank' will require a statement from Western Union on the status of the money order. You will need to make the claim with Western Union because we are not authorized to do so.
We apologize for the inconvenience but our hand are tied until Western Union can clear this up. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
I was wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar? What would you do in this situation? I did contact Western Union regarding this, and they told me it was cashed on. The one i sent for the security deposit also says cashed on but provides a date, the one they're having issues with just states cashed on without providing a date.
Western Union told me they'd issue a photocopy since i submitted a money order refund claim as they can't do a refund on a cashed on money order. They also suggested I may want to do a money order research request form. I do have the money order receipt. Also, the receipt when I purchased the money order. I'm just kinda lost about the process as this is the first time i've used money orders, and have gotten somewhat conflicting information from my landlord and western union.
