I want to move/live somewhere else, but how do you actually do this?

I live/work in a place that’s okay for now and the years to come, but I don’t want to stay here forever. I have moved before, but I’ve always stayed in the same state.. I just changed counties.
Without knowing where I work and where I want to live, do you know how I can achieve this dream?
I do live in the US and I dream of moving to a different state from where I currently live.
