Why is literal harm against women when it comes to p*rn so popular?

Stuff like BDSM. Torture, Being tied up, choking, whipping, spanking with hands or using objects that leave bruises and many other ways. Seems really messed up and sends the wrong message about intimacy and way to treat a woman. What’s the deal with this, I did admittedly try looking at that type of content but found myself feeling sick after a while.
