Basically the title. I got a job offer paying $28/hour with $55 per diem. It's a 100% travel position so basically they'll pay for my travel costs and send me out to their sites to work.
I haven't lived in the US for long, so I'm not sure whether that is liveable. I'll mainly be travelling in the NE, Midwest, Florida and Texas.
I'm trying to figure out my finances, as I'm saving up for college. Will that $50 per day be enough for my staying food? Since it's short term at the sites, I'm guessing I'll be getting hotels or Airbnbs. Basically I want to try and save all my normal salary for college and survive on that 50.
Edit: I'm reading the comments and want to clarify. They won't pay for the hotel/Airbn or food but they will give me a rental car so I won't have to pay for transport. So to sum up, I have to pay for my stay and food, they will pay for my car and plane tickets.
Edit 2: I don't know if people will read this but I just wanted to thank everyone for their responses. They were really helpful. The consensus was that 50 is too low and also that there might be some miscommunication about who(me or the company) is responsible for lodging.
I want to let everyone know that I have decided to turn down that offer. I had my back against the wall before since it was the only offer I had and wasn't expecting to hear back from another company with which I had 4 interviews. However, I'm happy to let everyone know they actually reached out to me a couple hours after I made this post and offered me a position with much better work. I think I'll learn a lot more there, and possibly might get an opportunity for an engineering role (instead of a technician role) in the future. There are also paying much more at $40/hour so it was a no brainer for me. There's not travel either so I'll be more stable there. A big thank you to everyone for their comments!
