I (29M) and my fiancee K (28F) have 3 dogs and a cat together. Over the summer we started using a local high school teen to pet sit for us. She (14F) has done multiple overnights and whole days at our house. We met her through one of our children’s daycare employees. Since she still cannot drive both K and I have picked her up and taken her back home before.
She is easy to talk too and reminds us of how we were when we were her age. So as I am taking her home this evening I mention the next time we may need her we are going to an amusement park for their Halloween stuff and will be gone most of the day. The amusement park is about 1 hour from our general area. She mentioned how she has never been able to go for that but always wanted to. K and I have season passes that we get so many free bring a friend tickets that we have not used all yet and the season is almost over. So I said I’ll have K and her mom talk maybe we can plan a day to take her up as a little thank you for all she’s helped with. Having a home pet sitter is a lot cheaper than placing 4 animals in an overnight pet care.
She got really excited and said that would be so much fun. After dropping her off and heading home it dawned on me that they may seem a little strange to her parents if she mentions. I probably should’ve waited to talk with K and her parents first before mentioning it to her.
What do you all think? Was that inappropriate or strange to offer?
