Why do people leave their cars behind during evacuations?
Post Body

I stumbled upon videos on TikTok showing so many abandoned towns, and there are so MANY cars just left to rot there. Why don't they just take their cars while evacuating?

I know that in cases of evacuating because of radiation, you shouldn't take your car since it is probably contaminated with radiation, but not all of them are radiation-related evacuations. Some evacuations are because of earthquakes, contaminated water, flooding danger, and so on.

Edit: Do cities give the families compensations for all the money they lose because of evacuations also?
