Does albinism affects the texture and integrity of hair?

I know it affects pigmentation. But does the lack of said pigmentation removes some structural integrity?
Like, it will probably do as a side effect, where said pigmentation provides some protection against the elements.
But that is more indirectly.
Is there a more direct effect of albinism affecting hair?
